For several years I have had “paradigm shifts” and “game-changers” in how I train clients, how I train myself, and providing educational resources for others through physical fitness and healthy living habits.
This simple sentence speaks to me in so many ways, “Movement with purpose, intention, and consistency is health”.
Read that again.
Anyone can vouch for me when I tell you I lack the skill of mathematics, just ask my wife. But, when I read this sentence, it is simply a formula or equation that equals balance, homeostasis, and an internal center of being.
The biggest factor in my opinion is the consistency component. Everyone knows in order for you to become proficient in a task, you have to perform that skill often and consistently.
That being said, I have learned over the years that most people in order to achieve their fitness goals they operate best via the variables of:
a. High volume
b. Low intensity
What is the objective?
To constantly send a growth signal over time with the intention of practicing the skill, you will become better at it, and you will learn to internalize the movement.
Ex: you are a novice lifter and generally want a stronger lower body, practice the squat pattern under your own bodyweight everyday by performing 3 sets of 10 reps spread throughout the day. You accomplish several factors:
1. learning motor skills
2. learning to engage different musculature with a profound sense of intention
3. time management; you are working with your body
Try this technique out for 30 days and report back, I promise you with no regret you will be interested in the next challenge.
Training is fun!
