Let’s show some love for the landmine shall we! This is a great piece of equipment and a tool I utilize often. This specific movement is a landmine deficit RDL (Romanian Deadlift)
This exercise incorporates a foundational movement called a hip hinge, where you simply bring your pelvis from a neutral position and shift it in a posterior fashion.
One of the best queues for this movement is to visualize there is a car door behind you and you want to close that car door solely with your butt.
This exercise focuses directly on the posterior chain (low back, hips, glutes, hamstrings, calves). As humans we are so used to walking in the frontal plane and doing quad dominant movements that we neglect our backsides, never find yourself training in one plane of motion and or one modality.
Remember this is a deficit so I am INCREASING my ROM (range of motion) slow and controlled. This is a killer for growth and resiliency!
This is a compound movement so never go right into it, break it up into manageable pieces via DBs, KBs and with learning technique/form.T
Watch me do it and then try this exercise out and let me know how it felt! Share it with your friends and family and they will be blown away!
